A perfect blend of contemporary and traditional elements—contrasting wood tones, navy cabinetry, and gold accents create a timeless palette. The luxury vinyl plank flooring in natural white oak is easy to maintain and keeps the space light and lived-in. Light, neutral walls with hints of yellow and grey complement any colour scheme.

To add depth, we went bold with Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore for the cabinetry—a classic shade that pairs easily with other colours. The light marble-look quartz countertops and vertically stacked backsplash add a fresh, modern touch. A slim-profile range hood in a dark tobacco wood stain echoes the coffee station and dining banquette, tying the design together. We opened up the TV room by removing a dividing wall, extending the kitchen cabinetry into that space for a seamless look. Lower cabinets beneath the wall-mounted TV create visual separation, while a floating wood mantle adds warmth without bulk.

A custom bench separates the raised dining area from the living space—doubling as extra storage and a safety feature. We matched the bench stain with the hood and railings, added a new rug, and styled with accessories while keeping the original dining table.

In the entry, we replaced colonial doors with sleek single-shaker styles and updated the staircase with a modern railing and continuous newel post. The oak flooring flows up the stairs, contrasted by the same rich wood stain used throughout for a cohesive and elevated feel.
