DISTINCITION
This project was all about creating a distinct, memorable moment in every room, spaces that feel intentional, layered, and deeply personal. Rich jewel tones are balanced with soft, ethereal hues and warm neutrals, creating a home that feels energetic yet calm, refined yet lived-in.
The residence was fully furnished from top to bottom, with updates including new lighting, fresh paint throughout, and new flooring in the upstairs bedrooms and basement to complement the existing hardwood. Artwork plays a defining role in the home, acting as both a unifying thread and a reflection of the client’s personality. Many pieces are artist-made, reinforcing a curated, collected feel rather than something mass-produced.

The living room was designed around the client’s existing sofa, layered with a mid-century accent chair and a bold area rug to ground the neutral palette. A custom, removable curved sideboard beneath the television adds softness, function, and a sense of completion to the space.
The open-concept dining area continues the story with a coordinating rug and warm mocha-brown walls that tie into the fireplace. A custom art wall creates a gallery-like focal point, while a pearl-inspired pendant, and an intentionally added second fixture, brings balance and visual interest.
The powder room embraces a dramatic Victorian boudoir feel, featuring black botanical wallpaper and rich raspberry shiplap that adds depth and character.

A former flex space was reimagined as a home office with soft neutral walls and custom Blue Hydrangea built-ins by Benjamin Moore, featuring open shelving, concealed storage, and a white oak countertop. Across the hall, a second office was designed with wall-to-wall built-ins that maximize storage and elevate the space beyond standard office furniture.
The guest bedroom embraces a deep, electric blue palette inspired by nights under the stars, layered with outdoor-themed art, warm lighting, textured bedding, bouclé drapery, and a vintage-inspired gold mirror.
The primary bedroom features a relaxed mid-century boho aesthetic, pairing the client’s existing bed with metal side tables, a green feature wall, and botanical artwork. A cozy reading nook and a custom modern sliding closet door with horizontal slats complete the space with warmth and architectural interest.

The basement was reimagined as a bright, welcoming retreat with soft blue walls that instantly lift the space. A wall-to-wall sectional upholstered in a creamy, textured fabric fills the alcove layout, inviting comfort and connection. Existing artwork guided the palette, while a carefully chosen rug ties the colours together, bringing warmth and cohesion.
